Day
GJ Cleverley bespoke side-elastic shoes with twin-needle stitching on the apron in dark burgundy calfskin with single leather soles.
Evening
Gravati three-eyelet half-brogue bluchers with a modified U-throat in antiqued tan calfskin (Gravati calls it Betis -- it's aniline-dyed calfskin treated with alcohol to strip the finish off partially to make it susceptible to neutral creme, which, when worked in, darkens the leather) with double leather soles with a central rubber plug (16407, 640 last).

Today's Shoes
Vass Theresianer high-lace punch-cap blucher boots with a rows of broguing along the edge of the quarters and behind the eyelets in tobacco suede with single leather soles (F last). The boots pictured above are made in identical suede and on the same last as mine, but they lack the broguing that my boots have. I would very much like to have the same sort of boot in an identical suede only as a balmoral boot instead of a blucher.
Evening
Gravati three-eyelet half-brogue blucher with modified U throat in antiqued tan calfskin with a thick combination leather/rubber sole (16407, 640 last).

Today's Shoes
Gravati three-eyelet half-brogue bluchers with modified U throat in dark brown waterproof suede with a rubber lug sole (16407, 640 last). Another rainy day, another rain-appropriate shoe.

Today's Shoes
Alden long wing bluchers in tan Scotch grain calf with a reverse welt and double leather soles (LeatherSoul special edition model, Barrie last). Much as I like these shoes (and I do like these shoes very much), I am forced to the conclusion that they are really only suited for flannels and jeans. They just are too large and clunky to work on ordinary wool trousers.
Evening
Gravati three-eyelet half brogue bluchers with modified U-shaped throat in antiqued tan calfskin with combination leather/rubber soles (16407, 640 last).

Today's Shoes
Day
Gravati plain-toe double monkstraps in Radica 033 calf with double leather soles (13618, 500 last). The two straps are parallel to one another, which is a bit unusual -- on a double monkstrap, they're typically a bit skewed.
Evening
Gravati half brogue bluchers with a U-like throat in antique tan calf with combination leather/rubber soles (16407, 640 last).

Today's Shoes
Gravati cap-toe half brogue bluchers in antique tan calfskin with a double leather sole with a rubber plug in the middle (16407, 640 last -- Gravati calls the calfskin Betis, the color Bruma, and the sole style centrogomma). I also stopped by Harold's in the Heights to pick up a dark brown belt, and Johnny Mykof, the shoe manager, showed me a CD that he had assembled of all the Gravati model pictures that he and Jim Pierce, the owner of the Harold's shoe concession, had taken over the years. I had seen most but not all before, but some of the ones that I had not seen previously were particularly eye-catching. One of these was a side-zip ankle boot (I have the same pattern in dark brown kangaroo -- 16821) in a beautiful cognac-colored crocodile. Given the size of the piece of croc that would be necessary for the pattern, those must cost a pretty penny. The other was a pull-on half-brogue high boot. I think that I'm going to have to have a pair of those.

Today's Shoes
Gravati half-brogue bluchers with an extended welt and a rubber lug sole in dark brown waterproof suede (16407, 640 last). The rubber lug sole and the waterproof suede were appropriate for the rainy weather, although not so much the sand that my lovely goddaughter threw at me at dinner.

Today's Shoes
Gravati three-eyelet modified U-thoat cap-toe bluchers in dark brown waterproof suede with a rubber lug sole (16407, 640 last). I have this shoe in tan calf with a leather sole, too; but given the thunderstorms that rolled through Houston today, waterproof uppers and soles seemed like a good idea.
